Following the successful design of the cinema within Kuala Lumpur's landmark Pavilion KL shopping center, 31 Design has once again extended this avant-garde concept to the cinema at Damen Mall in the capital. With groundbreaking thinking, the team has created a "Back to the Future"-themed narrative experience space, shifting the focus from spatial construction to experiential architecture. This establishes a new generation of cinema benchmarks that combine cultural depth with experiential innovation.
The design team deeply engages with the city's artistic DNA, crafting a futuristic showcase space that continuously stimulates viewers' senses through striking and emotionally resonant artistic expressions.
Adopting an "open street-view" layout, the design deconstructs and reinterprets urban imagery while extensively incorporating local graffiti art into the interior. Classic film elements are dramatically reinterpreted, and large-scale art installations break free from the constraints of traditional "white box" cinema spaces. The result is an evolution into an interactive, shareable, and sustainably updatable content hub.
Through ever-flowing visual spectacles, the audience transforms from passive spectators into active participants in this spatial drama, thereby unlocking imaginations of the future.
